Im trying to get an S2 Humax DRT800 going in the UK
I have lifetime so im trying to do the guided setup just to getstarted.
I know that I need the bellkin Hard wired 5050 I have that
I know I should use ,#401 as my prefix
All seems to be going ok Link light on the Belkin on
Logs from DHCP server show it asked for a lease I gave it one
But Guided setup fails with cant connect :(
Packet traces on the fire wall show
1) DHCP worked and the tivo got a lease
2) the tivo starts sending some sort of udp boradcast (I assume a becon for HMO)
3) It asks for the arp for the DNS / Gateway and thats it nothing after that
other that some wierd multicast stuff (mDNS which I looked up as multicast dns
interestingly enough has some thing to do with strangeberry)

Any Ideas is the tivo fussy about what it gets from DHCP
Thanks

Alun

Ok Will anser my own question just incas it helps someone else.
It seems that the DRT-800 doesnt like ,#401 even though the drivers are loaded :(
Alldeadhomiez confirmed this to mee also. He suggested using ,#211 and setting up
the PPP over ther serial port. Works like a charm :)
Thanks To Homiez

Alun

Above isnt strictly true !!
I restored a virgin recover and tried again ,#401 works as long as you go to demo mode with the usb in. Reboot and return to GS nd enter ,#401

Were you able to get the UK tivo EPG on your DRT800? If so, how (thought it wasn't possible)?

not so far
Its been a bit queit over christmas (been away)
I have generated headends for UK from the headend on the S1 but it wont load. Thats what Im working on now. The DRT turned out to be a poor chice as its very hard to get bash. Im still waiting for my eprom prog so I can flash the prom and get bash one thats done we may see some movement. In fact Im pretty confident that as long as you have an S1 and an S2 you could get something going

Thanks for the reply -- guess I won't be trying to get a DRT800 in the UK...
