I've been a Tivo user for quite some time. I've gone from S1's, to S2's (one a Pioneer DVD-R), and now to S2 DTivo's. I knew that the software on the DTivo's was like 18 mos. behind. Folders are nice, but I can deal w/o them.

What is driving me nuts is the guide! Since I'm switching from Dish to DirecTV I have to get used to a new channel lineup if, heaven forbid, I want to watch any live TV. Scrolling (or paging) thru the guide is soooo sloooow that it's painful as hell. Is there something that can be done to speed up the guide refresh?

Nothing you can do at this point. If you had a Series 1, you could use a CacheCard mod and it'll speed up the guide quite a bit. There is no CacheCard for the Series 2/HR10-250 although Jafa hinted last week that he is working on something.

There are two options for the guide. One is the DirecTV format guide which is very slow, the other is the Tivo Guid format which is reasonably quick. If you select guide, then (I think, not at home) the "info" button directly above the guide button you will see the screen where you can modify the date and time to display in the guide. The option the the guide grid is somewhere on that screen.

I also make liberal use of the favorite channels. The guide is still slow, but at least you don't have page through hundreds of channels you don't care about or receive.
