I'm trying to tranfer shows from a S1 DSR6000 to my HR10-250.
Encryption is off on both machines, and the shows I am trying to transfer are unencrypted.
I'm using mfs_ftp, I've tried FlashFXP with no luck.
I successfully transferred a show using SmartFTP, but when playing the show back on the HR10-250 I had no audio???
I've tried all different settings, passive, passive mode off, ascii, binary, etc.
I've search for a thread about transferring from a S1 to a S2, but haven't found much- maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing???
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks,

Thanks Walter!
Well, from reading that post and dling the files, I guess there is no easy way to transfer from S1 to S2 without having to "reprocess" the file.
That sux!!! I was hoping it would be a little less of a process, oh well.
I will email him and see if he has come up with anything better, since that post was in June.
thanks again,

Thanks for the help, but I emailed the author of "ty1to2" and you can only use it on a linux box.
So, since I don't have one, it does me no good... bummer.
Anyone have any other ideas???
I sure would love a way to view S1 recordings on my HDTivo.
thanks -

Well, I managed to get ty1to2 to run and process on my system by using a fat partition.
I put the file I wanted to "fix" on my fat partition, along with ty1to2.
Then I booted from a bootdisk, mfstools I think.
Mounted the fat partition, cd'd to it, and ran the software.
it took a while, and I had mixed luck with it, but I only tried the one file.
It transferred over to the s2, and played with sound, but it skipped and pixelated, and just generally didn't play right.
Maybe if I ran it from a dedicated linux system it would have worked better.

Cool...
Yeah, I'm considering maybe throwing a linux distro on a spare hard drive I have, and give "ty1to2" a whirl...who knows?
I emailed the author of it and he said he may do a windows binary - maybe if he sees enough interest for one, it will happen???
I'm just trying to decide whether all this trouble is worth the end result...
I would love to move some S1 to to my HDTivo though.
Let me know what you do hayreass- i'll be curious.
thanks,
