and in slaveEncoder.log

I got the same errors and fixed it by downloading the wmvencoder from microsoft. Helps to read the directions.

Hmmm..

Never seen this error, but from how it looks, I would say that you do not have TYShow installed on your EtiVo machine.

I suppose its also possible that he does not have an mpeg2 decoder on the machine. I'm pretty sure that tyshow needs an mpeg2 codec installed in order to work correctly.

As far as I understand (and I may be completely wrong), TYShow comes with its own MP2 codec (or atleast the dec portion of the codec).

Otherwise, I have no idea how the hell my EtiVo machine is able to decode TYs - I never installed any DVD software on it.

I am now able to encode but once it finishes I get the error:

[Error in parsing ShowInfo.xml for this show!!]

Please see attached file for picture of error.

Any ideas?

Huh..

This usually means EtiVo is somehow unable to understand the ShowInfo.xml that got brought down from MfsFtp. But it can be a couple of other things as well (non-existing WMV file would cause it too as far as I remember).

Can you attach your showinfo.xml file?

The bit at the end "ct>" is very suspcious. Is that a cut and paste error to this window or is that actually in the xml file?

I removed the ct> and now it parses the showinfo.xml. I don't believe I entered that ct> field in the showinfo.xml. I am encoding a new show and will post the results. I appreciate your quick response.

It would be nice to track down how that bit got into the xml and get it fixed. If this is a straight copy of what comes from mfs_ftp it could be an issue there. What version of mfs_ftp are you using just out of curiousity?

jpeadro

here is the version.

220 Mfs_Ftp ver 1.2.9p - {sock21}

I encoded another show and it worked fine this time. Not sure why it didn't perform properly on the last show but again it worked!
