Newbie question here. Has anyone looked into making a PC act like another MRV enabled TiVo? It could possibly serve video's that are on the PC's hard drive, and capture shows transferred from the TiVo. Any comments or thoughts? Thanks.

As of now, no one has cracked the encryption keys MRV uses, so simply put, the answer is no.
I would suggest you look in TyTools for all your extraction needs.

Do you know of people actively working on cracking the MRV keys? Are they hardware or software keys? Sure seems like a computer acting like a MRV TiVo would be a slick solution. Hmmm.... Lots more reading to do!!!

I was wondering if anyone has written a tool to allow the extraction/insertion of video using the HMO MRV protocol?
I think that would be really cool and very handy, especially for people who want to archive shows on a PC for later streaming.

Have a look here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34334) for an alternative, using mfs_ftp.
