I think so, it seems that the hacks and things are at a stand still and have been for a while. I finally gave up on trying to stream mpeg to the tivo, and bought me mvp, it does good job. Well just wanted to say hi to all, and merry x-mas and happy new year. Keep hacking though.

not at all. in fact, there are a number of recent breakthroughs which have occured in the last 6 months:

hmo superpatch
killhdinitrd
4.x on RID hardware

there are lots of things that are still out there to be done - true hmo integration for s1 units, removal of macrovision and other recording preventions on dvd units, pc HMO servers (and integration into units like the NSLU2), etc. the limits of hacking the tivo are generally limited by your imagination. if you found a point where you are happy with your unit, thats great...but that certainly doesnt mean hacking is dead.

Her's a hack I'd love to see done but don't have the skills for:

Cahnge the audio recording settings on a SA.

The standard resolution and bitrate are horribly low, and in the opinion of many degrade DPL signals.

Anyone any ideas how to change them?
