I have a series 2 with 4.01b. I need help with replaceing the kernel so I
can put killhdinitrd on it. I have the right kernel image. I just need to know how to install it correctly.

This (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=196162&postcount=3) thread may be of more help as it shows you how to copy the killhdinitrd'd kernel to your Tivo drive and overwrite the existing kernel. You won't need the steps for flipping the bootpage as it is only used if the drive was previously monte'd with Sleeper's tivoscripts. You will need to run the bootpage command to determine which partition you need to copy to. Actually, you can dd the killhdinitrd'd kernel to both partitions 3 and 6 and you'll be covered no matter what.
