This is my first post after reading these forums for the last two weeks. I hope I haven't missed something simple, and this is my first attempt to hack the tivo.
I have a Philips DSR7000 and am following Montano's instructions. I'm using a 160 GB drive, but I really don't want the extra space beyond the 137GB limit. I did an mfsrestore using the mfstools on the tivoscripts CD. I put the drive in the tivo and it worked perfectly. The image I used for the restore was the 4.01b image that Alphawolf provided a link on emule. I put the tivo back in the computer and attempted to run the bootpage command on it. This reports a "does not appear to be a valid Tivo Drive". If I run pdisk on it, I get what looks like a good drive, and it also looks like it hasn't gone beyond the 137GB based on what I've read from other posts. My tivo drive is the primary slave so I used \dev\hdb with bootpage.
