I am not affiliated with the seller, I was just on the market for one of these and about to pay 25+ from another site when I found these on ebay. Seems like a great deal.

Well, I should have known when it seems too good to be true it probably is.

I got a little worried when the most recent feedback from this seller was negative due to no shipment and no email responses.

I then noticed most of the other items this person had sold were kitchen items like pots and pans, with the occasional cell phone?

Today I got an email saying my paypal money was refunded due to being "out of stock" and now that money is on hold through paypal. I am assuming I will get it back in a few days.

Anyhow, hope no one gets ripped off on this deal, cause I feel bad since I posted the link.

For now im off to find another source.

The guy emailed me saying 20 of these were damaged in a warehouse from recent rain storms they have had.

mrwalker66, you ordered after I posted the deal right?

Anyhow, still seems fishy but I guess its possible. Let me know if you get your adapter.

whoops, we'll see...looks like you were a couple of people ahead of me on the buyers list..seems that you should have gotten yours...this isn't my first time at the dance, i have been screwed on ebay before, but i have always got my money back...paypal is more persisent now that they are owned by ebay...if this does turn out to be a total pooch screw, i should have known because rule 1 is to never buy from anyone who doesn't list what state they are in...good luck

Same for me. Even a nontechnical person should be able to notice the box does not say FA-120.

No answer yet, but I won't hit the 'fraud' button unless I don't get a response by Monday afternoon. There are several possible reasons for not responding, including the fact that San Diego is getting hit by ANOTHER storm today.

Yikes.... I feel really bad. Sorry guys :(

The dude did email me from the following account:

vmanpuria@indiatimes.com

His name according to his email signature is Vivek.

Again, really sorry I posted the link to this bad auction. I did notice a few people left him good feedback for the item so maybe some people got the right item?

Hey, it's cool. You saw what appeared to be a good deal and let others know about it. I'm not holding you responsible. Frankly, this does not look like a planned attempt to defraud the buyers. For one thing, he's p***ing too many people off for the money he's making.

Of course, if PayPal and eBay fail to get me my money back, and you REALLY feel REALLY, really guilty, you could always make up my losses. NAHH - I couldn't ask that. Or could I?

Yeah, no big deal. Not much lost in any case, since I only bought one. There is the guy who bought ten of them though...

I've struck out on all the contact paths I've tried. email bounces with over quota messages; phone # gets a cannot connect. I found the email of someone with the same name in the cs dept @ ucsd. I sent mail there asking if he does business as anayastores on ebay. Haven't heard back. I suppose snail-mail is an option, but I'm not sure I want to wait for a snail-mail reply before filling a fraud complaint.

According to ebay he still has
Feedback Score: 173
Positive Feedback: 100%

Have you guys that got ripped off left negative feedback to warn others?

Have you guys that got ripped off left negative feedback to warn others?I'd like to give him a chance to resolve the problem (e.g. a full refund) before leaving negative feedback. I will certainly leave negative feedback if I am unable to contact him to resolve this, or if he is unwilling to "do the right thing".

PlainBill

Frankly, I am NOT going to panic about this. Again, this does not fit the typical 'auction rip off' scenario. If I don't hear from him today, I plan on filing claims through the PayPal buyer protection plan and pursuing the matter with Ebay.

I'm reluctant to use negative feedback until the situation is resolved. If it isn't obvious, receiving negative feedback BEFORE having a chance to resolve a problem would really tick me off, and make me less willing to give the buyer any break.

I recently had another auction go bad (not complete, not working, etc.). The seller tried negotiating with me, but before I could even make a counter offer, he refunded the full purchase price AND shipping, and told me to keep the item. I really doubt it would have been resolved so well if my first response had been to leave negative feedback.

I'm the guy who bought 10 ;) Same scenario as everyone else though, paid the auction, then got a refund notice from PayPal a few days later stating nothing more than, "Sorry, out of stock".

I responded asking what the problem was, and got this back:
I sincerely apologize for this. It only happens occasionally. Due to recent rains, about 20 pieces of this item was damaged in my storehouse.

I humbly request you NOT to leave a negative or neutral feedback. If you have further concerns please let me know.

Thanking you,
anayastores

Incidentally, I just checked my PayPal account, the refund went through, so while I'm disappointed like everyone else, I doubt there's a scam here.

Doc, the problem is he sent some people the old 10meg Netgear USB adapter instead of the item he advertised.

I did notice he was also selling the 10meg version in the past, so maybe it was all just a big mix up.

well paypal will be no help...surprise...it doesn't qualify for squaretrade either..and ebay points you to squaretrade...short of calling the guy i see no resolution...

"Unfortunately, this complaint has been closed because it does not meet PayPal's complaint policy guidelines. However, your complaint has been noted in the record of the PayPal member whom you reported."

what the heck, why doesn't it qualify for paypal protection? Is the amount too low or something?

mrblack51

the paypal refund policy doesnt cover everything. for example, if you receive the item, but its not as advertised (say, it got damaged during shipment), then you arent covered.

Someone posted a link to MrTechUS (http://store.yahoo.com/mrtech/xtusb2010fae.html) . Ordered Monday, shipped Tuesday, arrive today. It's obviously designed by someone who thinks like the guy who designed the NetGear. At $17, including shipping, I took a chance. Tried it on my HDVR2, it works like a charm using the ax8817x drivers.
