What boxes (i.e. brand/model) are the same as an HDVR2 DirecTivo box?

I'm looking to buy something (see my post (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40657)) to experiment with and I need to be able to take a drives from my 'test bench' DVR and put them into my 'production' HDVR2 with no fuss or muss.

Thanks!

If you mean will work exactly the same, then nothing but an HDVR2. A Philips DSR7000 is the same hardware, but transplanting disks will cause problems when the TiVo goes to dial in.

but, if you're not phoning home, these are functional equivalents:

rca dvr39
philips dsr7000 (with various suffixes)

Thanks... that's what I was looking for. My DirecTivos don't seem to be in a mood for phoning home anymore, so it should not be a problem.

i'm assuming that you know about the diskconfiguration key and such that keeps you from shuttling around recordings that are encrypted from machine to machine...
