newbie questions about huge guide (split from: 4.x+RID - support)

I spent this past weekend reading up and trying the 4x upgrade path in http://nh-gym.com/4xrid.htm.

Had a lot of success.
1. My Samsung 40hr now has a 80gig drive with 4.01b running
2. I telnetted in and applied the superpatch
3. I got set the MRV name
4. My System information says I'm in good standing and HMO is active with all the correct info.

I've got two big problems. One big and one I'm not sure how important.

1. This big problem is I'm not getting any video from the channels audio is coming through just fine and obiviously the unit is sending a video signal ok because I get all the menus and guide data.

2. Next, I'm not so sure how big this is, after the clear and delete every thing the unit wants to complete a new guided setup and call in. I want to get in and adjust the network setting to disable DHCP and manually add the ip address in with a 0.0.0.0 gateway setting so the box can't go online to the TIVO servers. I can't get to the network setting without making the call.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why will he not update that guide to include the fakecall step to avoid the 2 hundred posts asking how to get past 1st call.

You need run fakecall one time to get past the call in. But if you are not getting video you got bigger problems then getting past a call in.
And think about it, you did a clear and delete all. Of course it is going to need go thru setup again.

fakecall is already in busybox.
cd /busybox
./fakecall.tcl
reboot

Thanks Shawn I will run the fake call script, I thought that in my reading the superpatch took care of the need/nag to make a call, thanks for the tip.


Anyone have any help on my video problem.

Update, the problem is now fixed. The dssapp I downloaded was corrupted I redownloaded it and that fixed the video problem.
