I have tried to read as many threads as possible but keep coming up empty.
The number of files and threads are astounding. The knowledge that some people in this forum have is much more than I could ever expect to come close to. That's why I thought I'd try this

I would like to pay someone to teach me how to extract video from my DirecTivo.

I pay for TIVO service and DTV service So I am not trying to get something illeagal.

I have a DirecTivo RCA DVR40 I got at Best Buy.
I have hacked my box using the "full monte" and added two 160gb drives.
I can access my tivo files with a usb to eathernet adapter into my router.
I can manipulate the files with "telnet" and "FlashFxp".
I have the 3.1.1c software version.

My TIVO is working great but I am dying to get the videos off of it onto DVD

What I do not want
I know that some hacks disable the video encription on your DirecTivo but leave you open for possible problems if you should download an upgrade later on. I don't want this

What I Do want
I want to know how to pull off the encrypted files from the "Now playing list", decrypt and convert them to mpeg or something I can burn to DVD.

I have cable internet access and can download files quickly.

I am not too stupid so this should go qiuckly.

I will pay through PayPal.

Please P.M. if you can do this and how much you want.

THANKS

Disbling encryption should not cause you any problems at any time. The files need to be decrypted on the Tivo first or you won't be able to extract them. You can't have it both ways. Your internet access has nothing to do with video extraction speeds as it is strictly a function of the Tivo's ability to transfer files via the USB port. If you've gotten this far then setting up your Tivo for video extraction should be a snap. You just need to do a little bit more reading.

Start with Alphawolf's thread on the rules regarding video extraction or something like that (it's in the extraction forum). You'll want to install the tivoapp patch to fix the scrambling issue. It's quick and painless but make sure you back up your original tivoapp file first. I believe there's a tivoapp patch packaged with the tpm utility for ease of installation. Look in the development sections to find the apps packaged with tpm.

Download the latest version of TyTools and install the tserver and NowShowing.tcl files on your Tivo and make them executable. Follow the instructions in the readme files included in the zip file for installing and running TyTools.

Here's a tutorial on creating DVDs from your extracted ty files:
