Anyone in the bay area(San Francisco) do work on Tivos. I need some help with my T60. Might be on its last leg. I was cleaning the dust off of it and barely hit it and now it just powers up, says almost there, then powers up again.

any help please,

Check the ribbon cable between the power supply and mainboard. Pull the cable free at each end and clean the contacts with a pencil erasor and then reinsert the cable into the connectors. Sometimes it helps to flip the cable end for end. This is one of the major causes of boot problems in S1 DTivos.

You may need to repeat the process several times. Check all of your other cable connections while you're at it. If any one of them is not fully seated the Tivo may hang at bootup. Make sure the drive is spinning up and the fan is running.

Pull your hard drive and run mfg diagnostics.
