I have a DirectTivo RCA DVR40 that I just decided to hack a couple of weekends ago. Since I'm new to this, I have a couple of questions and I also ran into a problem. This may need to be posted in the newbie forum, so forgive me if it should.
I successfully Sleeper'd my Tivo before reading many posts that said that Sleeper is outdated. When I say successful, I was able to upgrade the hard drive capacity and still have a working Tivo.
My first question is now that I have hacked my TiVo, do I ever need to make a phone call again?
And here's the problem, I have attached a DLink DWL-122 USB Wireless adapter. I have not be able to ping my TiVo, but I did notice that before sleepering it, the power light for the adapter would not come on. Now that I have sleepered it, at least it gets power.
When I sleepered the drive, I entered in 192.168.0.150 for the ip, 192.168.0.255 for the broadcast, and 192.168.0.1 for the gateway. I have tried both driver choices on the cd and I'm fairly confident that it's either that I'm using a usb adapter that does not work with either driver or that I need a newer version of the drivers.
Can anyone help guide me in the right direction? I've been researching this for almost a week now and I'm making very little progress.
Please help if you can,
Marc
