I have uo graded my hd and have my org.tvio drive for back up for now. my cur. software is 3.1.1e now i want to bash.
So I have 3.1.1c kernel now from what I understand I need to apply killhdinitrd to that kernel then apply that to the partition on my tivo drive that my cur. software is running out of. Will someone please let me know if this is correct. Dose anyone know any good books i can use to help me with learning what i need to know before i go on?

Yes. Everything you need to hack your tivo is on this forum. I glanced at "Hacking The TiVo, 2nd edition" in a bookstore. Seemed ok. But you'll get more info from ddb.
