I understand how to hook the tivo up to my comp and not to boot up in XP. I hacked my old tivo, but I entirely am lost when it comes to this series 2 tivo. Can someone point me in the direction of a GOOD Step by Step that show what tools to use to get my series 2 up and on the telnet. I'm planning on installing the YAC caller ID on it, but I have no clue how to setup all of the tools... I also plan later to use TYTOOLS and setup some extraction stuff.
Thanks in advance for the help!

This STICKY thread (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38468) is a pretty good place to start. The Step by Step method will get you hacked, but it is best to understand what you are doing in case something goes wrong and you need to ask for help. So read the STICKY and the linked threads.

I still can not get the bash prompt. Also will this work on a series1 with 3.1.1c
I really want my bash prompt back. and this is the hardest freaking thing I have ever tried to do. I have tried every edit to the rc.sysinit file and I never get the damn bash on serial. I even have a cachecard with turbihet and I can not get a prompt via telnet
any pointer will be appricated

3.1.1C does not run on a Series1. It works on a Series2. 3.1.0C2 is for Series1.
The install routine that came with your "cachecard with turbihet" will give you your bash prompt over ethernet, if you follow the directions.

If you have TurboNet and net access:
Add the following line to rc.sysinit
tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &
Reboot. Worked on my Series 1...
