Guys,

I know that this has been covered somewhere but I can't see what to do. I can extract a .ty file using tytool but the resulting mpeg file is squashed (tall and thin), I'm using windows media player 10 should I worry before putting this on a DVD. Before (I had to reinstall everything some system crash) the files would play full screen proper size - what's happened

Thanks

If it looks the same when you edit the key file inside tytool as it does on Windows Media Player, I wouldn't worry about it. Burn a DVD and see if it looks right. My guess is that it will.

So, before I explain, let me get something straight: you're perfectly aware that the question you're asking has been covered, but instead of searching for the answer, you're going to ask someone else to take the time and explain it? Frankly, the only reason I'm going to provide an answer is because statistically you're likely to just whine if I dont, and its not worth it.

Actually no, I'm not going to answer it. Instead, I'll tell you what you should be searching for. I've tried these searches on DD and Google, and found the answers with each term set.

"Squashed pixels", "480x480", "Tytools & media player 10", "aspect ratio & tytools".

You're being LAZY! STOP IT! For God's sake STOP BEING LAZY AND LOOK THIS STUFF UP! EVERYONE!

I second that!

And, if reading is not your strong suit, just go ahead and DO it! The pros around here probably learned what they did by DOING it, not by reading it. You said:
"should I worry before putting it on a DVD". That would be about a $.75 investment. Come on! If you're worried about burning up a few useless DVDs, then perhaps you should consider a different hobby.

Let us know how it comes out.
