View Full Version : Problem: Chapter starts, then loops after 10 seconds
Tytool 9r18.
Made Key file; opened it, but made no edits.
VOB Mux file
Made IFO file set.
On brand new Sony DVD Player (DVP-ns575p), chaper 18 starts, then continually loops after about 15 seconds into the chapter. Does it at the start of one other chapter as well.
Does NOT do it in Ulead DVD Player (plays right through).
Reburned DVD at 1x to rule that out, to no avail.
What's next? Remux file? Remake key file? Any ideas what might be causing this or how to analyze it?
TIA

Out of curiosity, how are you getting chapters without making any edits?
If you aren't editing, have you tried just muxing the .ty file with no key file?
How's it respond to a different set-top DVD player?

When I make the IFO set, I just leave the check box selected: "make chaper points every 5 minutes"
I always made the key file, even if I didn't edit. Didn't know you didn't have to, lol. Thanks for the tip.
Don't have another DVD player to try, but will give that a spin on a neighbor's or something.
I was also going to try Mux files (new format 1) and see if that makes any difference.

Yep, no key file needed to just mux it.
I forgot to mention to try the "new" format.
I switched to using it exclusively back when I bought a Sony a year or so back. I had some sort of issue, that it resolved, but I don't remember what it was.
The new format has worked on every player I've thrown it at, so I just always use it.
You could also try making a .cut file even if there aren't any cuts, just to see.
Best bet is to try the "new" format 1st.
I did try "new format 1"; no change.
What DID work was to deselect chapter points every 5 minutes, and instead checked "cut" (even though I made no cuts). Burned at 8x and the disk runs smooth right through the previous problem points. Thanks hayreass for the ideas. :)

Hey, I'm full of ideas (and other stuff too)
Too bad none of 'em worked though.
Glad you got it running, I guess if you want chapters, you'll have to manually mark them.
No shortcuts for you.
