CB Logos Still Missing (Confused)

Ok I have read a bunch of posts concerning channel logos (or lackthereof). It would seem that a majority of the people who have a hacked Tivo don't have a problem with the channel banner logos. I have a Philips DSR-704 running 4.0.1b. Its been up and running for a few weeks now and I haven't seen one channel logo on the channel banners yet. Am I missing something?

I've read a few threads:
* Adding a slice (seems to be related to a TWP problem)
* Running sc.tcl (Looks like it's geared for people who want StarsOnDemand and THe showcase back)

I don't really care about the Now Playing Logos just the channel banners. Can anyone pont me in the right direction? Is there any way to tell which slice the logos would come down in from DTV?

I see in my logs some stuff like:

...
file=SC-directvc-e12841-r12832-v2550.slice.gz

Is there a way to identify which is the slice I want and selectively install it?

The logo slices aren't going to come down from DTV. (Those slices you mentioned in your post are Menu Items and Showcases.) It looks like you want the logo slice posted by Alldeadhomiez in this thread (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=198416#post198416). The second post after ADH's seems to indicate that the channel banners "came back" for the poster after he dbloaded it.

As far as how to load the slice into your Tivo's MFS db, search on dbload. There were also several threads dealing with upgrading your software version with slices... you should be able to extract the relevant info from those.

One of the reasons why I also ask is I noticed that my TukiRes contains entries for the channel logos..but I still don't see them. Does the slice in alldeadhomiez post put them in tukires or somewhere else? Does 4.0.1b look for them in somplace other than TukiRes?

I figured all the CB logos come from the satalite since they do on stand-alon dtv recievers and did on my tivo before hacking it (no phone line exept for initial call - logos appeared after a couple days).

Wierd,

I get home today and there is a Discovery Channel logo in the now-playing list. Switch to Discovery Channel and there is still no channel banner icon. I wonder if these things trickle this slow down the satalite.


BTW: My second Tivo Came today (DSR-704) (from s2gstore.com) It took an hour on the phone to get them to switch the card from my 5+ year old sony directv reciever over to the tivo but it was finally done with no additional out-of-pocket cash. It's downloading some huge update now from tivo. Is this just 3.1.1e or is it something more? If 6.X/7.X comes down will it update my prom so the TiVo is unhackable (I noticed a prom slice in the log of my hacked tivo)?

Also my brandy new Tivo also does not have the logos. Are these only provided by TiVo during the calls? If so I guess I'll grab the slice and apply it.

Applied the logo slice and no change in my NowPlaying or the channel banners. Is a reboot necessary?

I think I need to go to bed earlier. I re-read the posts and found a restart is necessary after applying the logo slice. I'll restart it when I get home and open up my other Tivo Tonight to install the new,larger drive.

Allright. I had channel banner logos on my DSR-708 for two days. They are gone again. Does anyone know why this would happen. My DSR-704 is fine after a day. Do these logos need to be periodically reloaded?
