View Full Version : Need Help Mounting DirectTivo Drive

09-29-2001, 06:16 PM
Trying to get bash working on DirectTIVO.
Followed all the instruction on "Getting a BASH prompt with Dylan's bootbisk" and I cannot mount the DirectTIVO drive.

When I type:
# mount /dev/hdc4 /mnt
I get the following:
fatfs: bogus cluster size
VFS: can't find a valid MSDOS filesystem on dev 16:04
mount: you must specify the file system type

Dylan's bootdisk seems to recognize the partitions when its booting.
Because I see them just before the login prompt. But I cannot mount
them. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I should go about
mounting the TIVO partitions ?

Thanks in advance

Try :

mount /dev/hdc7 /mnt

Of the 6 Dtivos I have messed with all of them use 7 as the
active partition and you can't mount 4 at all.

Also if you run edit_bootparms in the Mad32 on the boot cd
it will tell you the current boot partition.

Edit_bootparms hdc

I think is how you run it.
