DTiVo 4.0 downloaded slices

Hey, I was just setting up a new TiVo and it made an unexpected network call to TiVo (upgrade=false was in place) and downloaded some slices. I searched google and these forums, and can't seem to find out what they are for. Here's a list. Is this the new 6.2 software (It doesn't match the other slice files in those threads)?

One of those was used to upgrade my wireless adapter after a restart.. all the packages are gone now and no entry in the /SwSystem

If the machine was scheduled to receive 6.2 it would have downloaded that instead of 3.1.1e. 3.1.1e would have appeared in /SwSystem if you'd had the DTiVo loopsets dbloaded.

Of course, DirecTV now knows you have a hacked DTiVo with version 4.x software on it...

Of course, DirecTV now knows you have a hacked DTiVo with version 4.x software on it... So? They can't do anything about it. DTV's take on things is you buy it, it's yours. They didn't want to fix my LNB when it went bad, I can do whatever I want to my Tivo ;)

Anyway, I've been reading a lot and it seems 4.0.1b downloads 3.1.1e first, then it downloads 6.2 slices. But I need the DTV loopsets to make it work. Do you know where I can get them?

So? They can't do anything about it.Technically, they can suspend your account. Your agreement with them has a whole lot of stuff about you not reverse engineering, disassembling, hacking etc. any equipment used with DirecTV's services.

Make sure to unzip the DTiVo slice twice before dbloading it. The two 6.2 support threads are in the Series 2 Support forum.

That's not what dtv told me. they said i can do anything i want with my equipment as long as i'm not stealing service. I even showed an installer my tivo running 4.0 and he said it was no problem. but that's a discussion for another day.
