A newbie question

Is there a how to about hacking tivo....tried reading the post etc., but it didn't really make a lot of sense!! any info about a how to or some more info (links) would be apprecited

first of all, TiVo hacking needs to effort on your side. read the forum, learn some linux, follow some links and then start asking specific questions. that way you have more respons to your questions.

posts on this forum cover a wide range of questions, make sure, if you start searching, that you leave out a date restriction. old posts cover almost everything, new posts are based on newer issues. They might seem to hang in free space...to me they do-)

so now some more direct advice:
- figure out to make a back up: you need security, you **** up during hacking sooner or later.
- get a bash prompt, with out it there is not that much to hack and you have to open de case al the time to get anything working.
