Hi, got a brand new T60, I've poured over everything in this section but I still have a problem:
I followed the excellent step by step instructions here posted by surgeon Link (http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3966)
That is, I successfully mounted my Tivo drive in a PC using Dylan's boot disk, placed the DTivoFix file in /tvbin, did chmod/chattr to it, edited TClient and rc.sysinit to execute DTivoFix (chmod,chattr them too) and placed the drive back in my Tivo. Note that I was only able to make these changes against the hdx7 partition, hdx4 was not valid (but I saw in two other posts that this is fine for a virgin unit)
I have an HU card that works - I have no problem receiving all the stations that, er, I'm suppose to be receiving :)
The problem is that when I try to record, Tivo brings up the "Final Setup Steps" screen that wants to dial out. Again following surgeon's post, I have never attached the phone line and that seems to be a roadblock. I almost want to let it connect just once to make it happy and then see if the DTivoFix will work from then on, but step 3 of surgeon's post is never connect it.
Does this mean that the fixup script (DTivoFix) did not work? Is there any log file I can look at on the tivo drive to see what has happened. I have not gotten the serial cable I need yet but I did add the line to rc.sysinit for the bash prompt.
