OPT-OUT and alter log file?

After using TiVo without server for couples of months, I figured that I couldn't live without it. Therefore, I would like to resubscirbe TiVo. However, I don't like TiVo to record every single button that I press. I knew that I can call for opt out, however, I prefer to alter the log file myself. Can someone please help me with this?
p/s I am using SA TiVo with DirecTV
