I have a T-60 that I allowed to make the first 2 calls to enable features. That was before the update to enable the dual reciever functionality. My question is, what software version enables that...? 2.0.1, or 2.5?

What do I need to do to get dual working, and allow me to put a tivonet in, and start hacking...(adding additional hard drive, get rid of phone calls, and nag screen, enable all features again...etc...)?

I can't beleive this was never answered.... 2.5 is the min. in order to get both internal Tuners to function. xTreme 2.5 will flash the prom to enable this. Read the docs or do a search for Prom Flash or the like and you'll find more info.

If you let it dial in it will eventually upgrade to 2.5.2 or 3.1 depending on your card. If you wanna do it go to the stickys and read captain video's How to or the readme for 2.5 xtreme. You wanna do that and eventually go to 2.5.2 for good locals or 3.1 if thats appealing to you. 2.5.2. is the version the majority uses here.

Wow, you guys really went fishing to dig out that old post. Something tells me that smokeman's DTivo has long since made the update to 2.5 and beyond all by itself. I'd hate to think he's still sitting by his PC waiting for an answer to this one.

Talk about an ancient post...
I've been watching dual tuners for ages now...on network, doing video extraction, and everything...

how did one this old pop up....?

It came up during a search to try and find the difference between the 2.x and 3.x user interfaces software versions of Tivo._Basically trying to see if someone had a side by side comparison of what you get by moving up to 3.x from 2.5x Still couldn't find a chart or anything like that.

Anyway, to prevent other people that may stumble on the thread I just answered it. Figure if they are asking the question they have reasons for not plugging it in and having it d/l the update from Tivo. ie: Canadian folks, RV users, hacked boxes for ethernet connectivity, cell phone only households (I fit that category) etc...

Funny that once I mention it there are 3 people that chime in within an hour or two....:D

There's really not a lot of difference between 2.5.2 and 3.1, AFAIK. I've never migrated to 3.1 so I can't give you any firsthand knowledge of what it entails. I've just heard that it's supposed to be slightly more stable (whatever that implies) but there isn't much difference in the features offered from 2.5.2.

Hell, I saw "dual receivers" and thought someone devised a way for two systems to share the filesystem and access each other's showings. LOL
