I can't personally help you w/ a series 1, but you'll have to at the least provide a lot more information

1) What unit are you running?
2) What hacks were installed?
3) Did anything happen right before this problem?
4) What's your serial output?

sorry for not providing enough info. It is a sony sat60 directivo I had to use the lb48 kernel because of the large (200 gig) hard drive. other than that I just used mfs tools to copy the original thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give. just before it stopped working the now playing list and other menus were transparant. I don't use or have a serial cable.
