View Full Version : lost networking / cannot mount partitions

Yesterday I lost all network access to my tivo. I pulled the drive, and put the old drive back in for troubleshooting (replaced failing HD last week), and all network connectivity was restored. This confirmed that it was something software related on the new drive, and not hardware related.

Today I put the new hd (without networking) in my pc, and booted with the "Jenkins" networking cd to try to restore all of the drivers & files related to the network. When trying to mount the partitions, I get the following:

#>mount /dev/hda4 /mnt4
mount: success
mount: you must specify the file system type

And the partition is never mounted. I get the same results when trying to mount hda7 & hda9. When I try to specify any type I get additional errors messages.

Is there anything I can do to fix this without going back & restoring the image from last week? (I promised my kids they could watch a show that will be lost, with no upcoming showings).

update: I tested the network connection with the new HD by making a test call, and the test call succeded, and the router logs showed that the ip address has not changed (thought maybe I did something to changet the static-ip address assigned to the tivo).
