See, this is EXACTLY the type of shit we dont want....once ppl start paying for pirated software thats when the big guys start coming down on you. Its been proven time and time again....those who use test cards can remember the good old days when dtv could care less that we had test cards, once the H hit the market with its $300 price tag DtV got pissed....
Leave this avenue alone man, I'm sure eventually someone will post it on the site, leave the dollaz outta this.
I vote the board admin delete this thread, outta sight outta mind, know what I mean?
PS. Nothing personal esfb8zs, just trying to protect my hobby and my free TV...feel me?

I did not mean anything by it.... It was half way a joke anyway. I expected someone to just send me the image.
I did not think of that angle, my appologies....
Now, does anyone want a copy of Windows XP?? JUST KIDDING....

Speaking of DSR6000 images, there is an image called: philips_dsr6000_divorced in the /incoming dir of ftp://ftp.abs.net/ I can't read the readme to see it it might be 2.0.1 (permissions don't allow).
Could the sysop check it out for me? The image shows 137 megs, so it might be worth looking at :-)
My thanks.

I just bought a new Philips DTivo...if there's a chance it has 2.01 on it, I'll make a backup. It's still in the box waiting for the installer to come.
Anyway, I'll need a little help. I have a Red hat Linux box that I can use, but very little experience in using it. What do I need to do to make a backup?

I've got a sub'd DSR6000.. its upgraded to 2.5... so .. just bought a no contact DSR6000, selling confirmed its NOT 2.5, so I can make (and will be doing it anway) an image of the drive right away if anyone needs it.
Am I understanding correctly that 2.5 writes a serial number into the PROM of the directivo and you cannot then slap a 2.01 image into it??

groovdadelic: I would LOVE to have that image. I can offer a fast ftp site for upload, or will DL from anywhere. I have been looking for 2.0.1 for a while :-)
email me at esfb8zs@hotmail.com
I have let my DSR6000 upgrade to 2.5, and have then rewrote ver 2.0.0 onto the hard drive with no problems. I have seen other people say it would not work, but it worked fine for me.
Thanks!

Can you do THAT without losing your recordings?
I mean can you go back from 2.5 to 2.0.0 and not lose what was recorded before (Shows)?
