Quick background:

Previously I upgraded my T60 to a dual drive configuration of a 40GB (original drive) and a 80GB drive. Several months ago the originaly drive started to fail, so I replaced both drives with a new, single 160GB, restoring from my old backup image.

So, now I have the new 160GB drive in place and have applied the LBA48 kernel and everything is working fine.... sort of.

It seems I get the occasional recording (sometimes more frequently than other times) that is either corrupted or "crosslinked" with another recording. During playback, the video will jump to a completly unrelated show (or sometimes back into the same show at an earlier point), leaving the recording unusable. Non of the recordings were copied over from the previous setup.

The system is completely stable except for this problem. Any ideas? Is this new drive just bad? Or is there some utility I can run to repair the drive so this won't happen in the future?

I think, but am not certain, that this is an LBA48 problem.

Possibly from not using the correct kernel, or using a non LBA48 aware boot disk.
