easiest way to get tivo to call in over internet?

whats the easiest way to get my directv tivo RCA DVR40 to call in over the internet? I already have usb to ethernet adapter, a router and all that.

the software version on my tivo is 3.1.1e

also, once i get the usb posrts enabled, and get it working, is there anything i need to do to keep the usb ports from being disabled? (like when it upgrades to 6.2)

This unit has never been hacked or upgraded in any way by me, but if it get messed up i'm not worried about it, cause i've got a backup hughes dvr-40 upgraded to 107 hours running 6.1 beta.

You should have no problem hacking your RCA DVR40. Do it just like the other one.

No difference, it should work fine.
