I beleive my hard drive is going bad in my hacked HDVR2. Is there a way to copy over all of my hacks to a new drive? It's not a monte'd system. So I thought that using the Hinsdale instructions for copying drives could work, but would doing it that way (a full copy, season passes, recordings, etc) also copy my hacks?
TIA

It will work as long as the hacks were not setup with TiVoScripts (and if you're not monteing, you're obviously not using Sleepers).

OK. I hacked my via the virgin 4.0 image and a killinitrd'd 4.0.1a kernel. I thought it would work, but wanted validation.
Another question, since some of my recordings have been done while my hard drive has been actign up, will they still be chopy after I transfer them to the new drive or will they be back to normal?
TIA

Depends. Are they always choppy in the exact same spot? If so, then it was probably recorded that way, and they'll always be choppy. If not, then you should be fine.
