I'm trying to replace my failing 250 Gb drive with another 250 Gb drive. When I attepmt to do a mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hda |mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi /dev/hdd the process fails with the error "Restore failed: Backup target not large enough for entire backup by itself".
When I look at the boot messages I see that hdd (a Maxtor) is listed as 251000 Mb and hdd (a WD) is listed as 25059 Mb. The uncompressed backup size is listed as 228374. This is an upgraded Humax DRT800 unit.
I have tried to do the backup/restore with different parameter options. Is there any way I can salvage my recordings?
Thanks in advance!
