I purchased a samsung 4040 last year and added a 120 gig drive making it a 160 total I have received the 6.2 update and want change.

is this unit expanded?

any way to move it to a single big drive like a 400 with 6.2 ?

if not can either of the drives in this dual setup be exchanged for a larger drive?

from what I understand (not a lot) the only way I can expand is to start over, I assume I need to copy just the os to a new drive?
any one got the link to how?

thanks big time I thought this was going to be easy but I guess not.

google for hinsdale's guide. What you want to do is backup then restore your old drive to a new one.

Should be able replace either drive or both drives (they'll need a divorce). All the information you need is in the Hinsdale How-To.

You should be able to expand it (with certain restrictions). Using mfs backup/restore you should you should be able to copy the 40 Gig to a larger drive, then use mfsadd to expand to the full capacity of the drive. You could also copy the 120 gig the same way and expand that too.

I don't think it would be possible to combine the two drives onto a larger drive AND use more than 160 Gig of it without starting over. If you wanted to try this, do a mfsbackup using -s (shrink) and -l 5. This MIGHT result in eliminating the 120 gig mfs partition.
