6.2 image to correct 6.2 image

Ok, I downloaded the 6.2 slices file, because I had 4.0 on my Directv Tivo and didn't want to loose recordings. I got that hacked also. But in the system info screen it lists it as a Philips receiver, not a RCA, like I have. Is it possible to connect via phone or ethernet and force a download, which I know will happen, due to the fact it's not the right version for that model, and run the installSw.itcl program, and do the same steps as before when i upgraded from 4.0 to 6.2?

Considering downloads for Dtivo occur via Satellite, this would not be possible. Since I used downloaded slices, I dont know much about wrong model in the System Information, but I thought I read that it makes no difference - Correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as I am aware, it's harmless. It's all a question of which system number you used when you did the upgrade.

I don't know if this will solve all the problems, but have you looked at alldeadhomiez's script (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39866) to set SwSystemName? It's post 7 in the thread.
