View Full Version : My .ty files quit at about 30 minutes

I have 2 networked TIVOS on DTV with the Networking Option.

I am able to download programs to my WinXP machine using FTP Voyager just fine.

It seems that when I download a program that is 1 hour long, it will only play the first 30 (approximately) minutes. Most of these 1 hour programs are 800mb to 1gig in size. The size that FTP Voyager shows on the TIVO is the same as the size of the file after I FTP'd it to my PC.

I use TYSHOW to allow me to watch programs in Windows Media Player.

I have also tried using TYTOOLS to Multiplex the file to mpeg which also works fine but with the same limit.

All of the programs play to length on the TIVO itself. I only have this problem after I download.

What am I doing wrong?

It's likely a problem with MFS_FTP. Specific versions of it would output debug information after each FSID which stumps TyTool and the like. You have two options:

1) Use Tserver to extract shows for TyTool and TyShow.
2) Search around DDB for which version of MFS_FTP has that problem and how to fix it.

I am series 2.

I searched around for a thread that talks about MFS_FTP version problems but didn't come up with anything. Maybe you could help me with that one.

TYTOOLS doesn't seem to want to connect to my TIVOs after I put in the correct IP number. Should I assume that the TSERVER is not running or broken?

I bought my TIVOS with everything installed. Its going to be an ordeal for me to figure out the MFS_FTP version I have installed, assuming that is the FTP server I am connecting to. I am series 2.This is a hot button here. You might want to read this (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35229) newbie sticky.

If the seller included mfs_ftp, it's most likely a copyright violation and should be reported.

I'd advise you to start over with a virgin image.
