DTV 6.1 to 6.2? And what about HD Tivos?

I just installed DTV a couple of weeks ago and my SD Tivo came preloaded with 6.1. I understand 6.1 Tivos will not be upgraded to 6.2. A) Is this true? B) If it is, is there a way to do it myself? C) Is it worth doing if I probably won't be considering any serious hacking in the next 6-12 months? In other words, how often do upgrades appear?

My HD Tivo is running something much older, 3.x as I recall. How does that work with an SD Tivo or does everytihg have to be at the same level. I am a real newbie on this stuff.

Id you're running 6.1 you have an R10. It's probably the least hackable DTiVo out there. I doubt 6.2 will be coming out for it any time soon.

Any way. 6.1 and 6.2 are the same. 6.1 is for R10's, 6.2 is for all the other ones.
