I get a message that says the following:

programs cannot be transferred from the 83f2 dvr onto the 369D dvr because the 369 DVR is not enabled for transfers.

To change your Multi-room viewing permissions go online to "manage my account at
www.tivo.com.manage. Note: you can only transfer to/ from DVRs on the same account.

I am running 4.0.1b-02-2-240 on an HDVR2

i can share music on them, and they both show MRV being enabled.

1 of them is not activated with directv yet, but i can play the shows that are currently recorded on the drive.

what i did was use a stand alone disk duplicator to copy the drive from one tivo to another and everything works perfect except the MRV

any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. it took me 3 solid days just to get the 4.0 software installed. My knowledge of Linux is about 0 so any help would be great.

Run the set_mrv_name script again. If you ran it previously and this still happened, it means your tivo is calling out which is a bad thing.

I have been searching and cant find a thread with information on exactly how to do this.

if anyone knows and could post a link to a thread or could just reply with instructions I would be :)

How did you install HMO without seeing the instructions for set_mrv_name.. it's included in the same package as the HMO script.

search for the superpatch for 4.0 thread... should be in the Files section. NOT superpatch-67all. that's a newer one..

it was so long ago that i forget everything I did. This is mainly due to the fact that I know nothing about linux and fumbled my way through it so i could have the features i wanted. After I was done i promptly emptied my brain of all of it.

I appreciate the help i will see what i can come up with.

If you copied and moved it over you probably need to do a CDE to get the numbers aligned to the hardware.

But if its not turned on by directv, you may not need to do that.

Did you do a Clear and delete everything?

Did you rerun the set mrv name script? If you did a copy, they will have same name and need that changed.

This gets different hardware in sync with what is on the HD.

The problem is that they're phoning home. Upon talking with Tivo.com, they find they don't have an account and reset their name back to null. To fix, break the route to tivo.com (either at the router or at the box) then set the mrv name again. This has been discussed at length in many other threads, so I won't give the instructions for it here.
