Tivo stolen

I had a tivo series 1 (HDR112) stolen. I have a backup of the drive. If I buy another used tivo, can I retsore it to another unit? If the theif uses unit and I use new unit will Tivo have a problem with updating guide data to 2 units?

The service number is tied to the hardware, not the software on the disk. Call Tivo and ask them to cancel the old service number and subscribe the new one.

Not sure, but they may even be able to flag the old one so it can't be used.

TiVo might be able to help you catch the theif also. They could at least tell where the connection came from (IP).
