Is this possible? Thanks.

Let me add, that I have searched, and the answer thus far is a firm NO. I am hoping there is something new I haven't found.

Nope. Not supported. Only series 2 units work. They have APG (advanced programming guide) which is what DTV uses to tell the receiver that the locals are on 72.5.

Having said that, DTV is planning on moving locals back to an orbital slot close to 101, so who knows what might happen then. I'd still guess it wont fly. Might be time to get DTV to give you a new series 2 box for free to get the locals.
