Can't See bash2.0

I just setup bash on my s1 tivo and i cant see the bash2.0 on the hyperterminal screen. The other day it was working then it quit. I have tried stty sane and i still can't see it. When I type reboot the tivo will reboot. Is it possable that there is a setting in my computer that will not let me see the bash or dionogostics menu?
