Any way to FIX a reboot loop?

I'm having some work done on my place, so I had to tear down my HT and move it to a different room. I tried switching my SAT-T60 from dual cable to single cable and the thing crashed and got stuck in a reboot loop. I just re-imaged it with xTreme, but obviously lost everything.

Was there a way to fix or trouble shoot this without reimaging?
