Not sure if this in in the right place but I wanted to know if you can manually add channels to the tivo or even add guide data to it.
Other words is there any way to get guide data?
This is a S2 SA killhdinit'd and all hacks done.
Thanks

Two separate questions.
AFAIK you should be able to add channels and logos to your lineup, assuming you can find the right scripts (they should be here somewhere).
Guide data is a different monkey. Getting it from anywhere but TiVo Inc is considered theft of service (don't ask me why since its obviously possible if you do some research at oztivo) by the administration. But you know what, its their forum, so if you want to be welcome here you play by their rules.
And from what I understand since you have a series 2 then its a glorified boat anchor without a TiVo sub. This is precisely the reason I went with a SAS1 - guided setup got me my channel lineup and now I'm free-wheeling with the coolest digital VCR money can buy. Not having guide data is an occasional pain, but I get a free TV guide with the sunday paper so its not THAT big of a deal.

thanks,
well as far as the S2 being a paperweight, I dont think so. I love it with the HMO and the recording. The ONLY problem is the channel data
Thanks for the info though I will check that out.

It is not discussed here and against forum rules.

Because there is a "wink and nod" relationship between TiVo and the hacking forums.
As long as theft of service (or in the emulation circumstance, circumvention of need for TiVo Inc) is not discussed then they (TiVo) do not interfere too much with the other hacking.
Most TiVo owners accept this relationship because they love thier TiVo so much that they don't want TiVo Inc to make it harder to hack, or worse go bankrupt and stop altogether (a very possible outcome, I don't think TiVo has ever posted a profit).
Personally, I looked into emulation myself since having guide data could be handy, however...
Based on the info thats out there I decided its just not worth the insane amount of knowledge required to get it set up. Since my SAS1 works fine as a digital "VCR" its a small sacrifice (IMHO, I'm sure other will strongly disagree) to live without guide data. Especially since there are scripts for editing show titles, without which things could get confusing real fast.
Having an S2 somplicates your problems.
My advice?
If you don't want to pay for TiVo service then sell your S2 and pick up an S1 either here or on fleabay and live without guide data.

ok thanks for the info.
The only thing to rename the recordings is the command line script right?
Or am I missing something else. It does get real confusing with the recordings.
Thanks again

I use edit-title.tcl, it should be in the files section. Its pretty simple, and I hate bogging down my S1 with TWP unless I have a specific need.

My apologies for dragging up a really old thread. But it's pertaining to something I really want to know about.

MBellot, could you be more specific about this? I get a lot of FTA channels that I would like to add to my TIVO. I don't really care about Guide Data, although I would like them to be able to be listed in my guide, for scheduling purposes. Would that be considered "Guide Data"??
Thanx in advance for any assistance you can render.
EDIT: Ooops.. I just noticed that this is a thread in the S2 Support area. I have an S1.. Is it still possible??
