I have been through the forums the last two days until I am blind. I have found the cure for this "Sorry... Failed to get the first 10 initial chunks..." in the forum as a problem with encryption still being enabled. I can find lots of help for Series 1 and stand alone DVR's but mine is a Directv 6.2 that is loaded with "Instant Cake" and "net". I found the thread where the path is missing "mfs_export" but cant get it into the $path, it seems to be locked by the "Instant Cake" or something else. I can extract programs with tytool 9r18 but that is as far as I can get. It will not mux because of the error message above. Maybe there is a different way to edit the $path. I have come to the end of the road. I have a Samsung Sr4040 with a new 160 hard drive that works just great. I just cannot extract anything usable. HELP!!!! No Smart asses please, just help. Thanks

Did you mount your drive rw before trying to edit?mount -o remount,rw /Though, like you said, this problem is most likely encryption related, so you'll probably need to turn encryption off, and decrypt existing shows.

Yes I did mount the drive and exported the directory with mfs_export to it then unmounted the drive. But when I ran sync and opened the $path again it was not there just like I was not there. When I run "Echo $path" it shows this path "/bin:/sbin:/tvbin:/ptvupgrade/bin:/ptvugrade/busybox" The same as before I tried to make the change.
I fully agree with you,, I must find a way to turn of the encryption.

And where and how are you adding your new directory to your path?

Have you tried just putting the file in one of the directories already in your path?
Looks like you have 5 to chose from.

For lack of personal knowledge I used a method from another thread (I don't remember where) I but the file in the hack directory and tried the following procedure "export PATH=$PATH:/var/hack:/var/hack/bin". I could then echo the $path and the export would be there, but, when I made it read only, did a sync, and when I echo'd the $path again, the changes would not be there. You should know that my knowledge of linus is nothing. I have spent days in this and other forums trying to find a solution to this "unscramble" and can find lots of instances but none that really apply to this "Ptvugrade" hack. Installing their software was painless until I tried to extract programs with TyTools. I thank you for your assistance

Did anyone find and solve this problem? I have a DTV HD unit as well. Built with instantcake and PTV net on a 300gig drive. TyTools 10 pulls shows off as designed, but I get the same error.

Does this mean the streams are still encryped? How can I disable it? The Instantcake install politely asked me for everything in the world. But it didn't ask if I wanted the streams unencrypted.

Yes, it means the streams are still encrypted. See http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39207
