Is there any benefit at all to rebooting a Tivo regularly, say once/week? Might it clear out some caches and actually improve performance slightly?

really depends on what all you're running. reboots shouldn't make a difference on a stock factory config
regular reboot is a good idea if any of the following apply:
running 17 different utils + the kitchen sink, particularly anything with a memory leak
bloatware installed (some tw modules qualify)
using experimental network/device drivers

using experimental network/device driversnaw, they crash the kernel often enough that any extra reboots are redundant :-)
