Unable to FTP into Sony Sat 60 with Cachecard

I have a Sony Sat 60 with a Cachecard installed. I install the mfs software and connected to my network port on my PC. I attempt to ping with ftp and no response. What I need to be able to do, it copy files from my Sony to the PC. I need help getting started FTP to my PC. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

Can you ping (if this is an ftp function I never heard of it)? Can you telnet? If you can telnet, perhaps the telnet daemon is running, but the ftp daemon isn't.
