I have a different ip scheme and had to change my tivo ip and dreaded having to take out the hard drive. I exported out the rc file by ftp and opened it in crimson editor. However, i went through the bash prompts copying and pasting the edited lines to the command prompt. Here is what i copy and pasted:

ifconfig eth0 172.16.13.240 broadcast 172.16.13.255 netmask 255.255.255.128

route add default gw 172.16.13.250 netmask 0.0.0.0 metric 1

By linksys router is 172.16.13.250 and i assigned my tivo .240. After reboot i could not ping or get the tivo to connect to the linksys router. Am i really screwed here? DO i have to take out the hard drive to fix this? If so, what do i do with the hard drive, boot to the sleeper cd or what? Or can i hook my laptop to the network card on my tivo and with a crossover cable and ip settings on my laptop on the same subnet telnet into the tivo? Help me please if you can!! Thanks
