Has anyone managed to get sendkey working for 6.2? I've read several old threads indicating that musclenerd got it working for 4.x but my search turned up no info about whether it works on version 6.2.

I did find this (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37159&page=2&highlight=sendkey+6.2) post by DTimVo which indicated that sendkey might not work with ver 6.2 but want to make sure that this is the definitive word on the subject.

[Edit] I'm not sure why my original search didn't turn up the answer but upon re-searching, this (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43346&highlight=routerplus) thread indicates that the problem with sendkey is not resolved for 6.2 but that routerplus (http://www.pvrhax0r.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51) may offer a solution (or at least a means to a solution) in certain applications.

In the short run, I would like to be able to capture user input from the remote control to run a basic script so I can begin to experiement on my own.

I'd like to develop a parental control system so that I can use the remote to toggle between "all channels locked out" (i.e. don't want the kid watching TV instead of doing his home work) and "certain channels and content blocked" (i.e. let the kid watch TV but not late night Showtime). Ultimately, I'd like to develop individual accounts with different passcodes, time limits, and content policies so that my wife can watch whatever, whenever but my kid has some limits. That's where I'd like to head but its down the road because I'm pretty new at this (and for all I know there might already be a hack for this).

I haven't had time to look at routerplus yet but a quick read of the readme file looked like it would fit the bill if I can figure out how to install it.

Do you have any suggestions about the best way to capture user remote control events on a Dtivo S2 running ver. 6.2? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm anxious to get my hands dirty.

In case anyone is interested, Routerplus works like a charm! I installed routerplus-2.4.20.o on my HDRV2 running Ver. 6.2. It works great and allows intercept, modify, and re-injection of remote control key presses.

Ack, I just now find this message, 6 months later. Cravens, you still here? Did you actually write some code to do all those things with routerplus, or were you just excited about the possibility?
