I did a lot of reading, the only thing I understand is that most people have DTV service. I want to hack a Phillips PTV100 standalone with a Dishnetwork receiver (got it working together quite nice). It has a turbonet card which I can connect to Tivo headquarters with, as it connects in the Tivo setup. I don't really care about extraction, but it is the "other" feature that I want as I live in Canada. I've read posts going back as far as 2002, and the more I read, the more confused I get. I know nothing about Linux, but I can learn, I just do not know where to start, the How-to's seem to be about DTivo's. I don't know what software version my box can handle or what progams I need to do what I want. I know I will have to start from scratch and I'm not asking about a prehacked box. Any precise guidence will be appreciated.
