I have an HDVR2 networked using PTV upgrade networking software, TWP, telnet, ftp, and all that good stuff is working. What I'm wonder is if there is some way I can use my computer to actually change channels or pick a program from the now showing list and display it. I want to be able to control what my Tivo is displaying so I can watch a tv connected to my Tivo that is not in the same room. I thought this was something I could do with TWP, but there is no options to change channels or to display any programming from the now showing list. Is this something possible to do?TIA

If you look more closely at the menus in TWP you'll see that you have a mockup of the Tivo peanut remote. Click on the various buttons and you simulate the actual remote from your PC, allowing you to perform any function remotely that you can do while sitting in front of the Tivo.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked and looked for that option and I can't find it.
I hate to ask this, but can someone be a little more specific and tell me what option it's under. I wonder if I have a different version or something?

Yes, for some reason my screen shows "Web Remote" under "User Interface". I'm also using 1.2.1 and I have no idea why your's doesn't show "Web Remote" but that's the ticket.

Could depend on your Tivo software. I have 6.2 and it does not show up because there is no working version of sendkey for it. Used to have it when I had 3.1.1

I also have an entry on the menu "Screen - View and control your TiVo's screen" under MFS that you don't show. Here's what my menu shows.

That could be. I'm 3.1.1c. Still planning my 6.2 upgrade.

Is there a way to get a working version of sendkey for version 6.2 or some other mod that emulates the Remote control?
Other than drive size this is the reason I upgraded my DirectDVR, I used InstantCake and PVRNet for the upgrade. Can I just buy another version of instantcake for verison 3.1 to get it to work or will that mess everything up?

If the database has been converted to 6.2, you won't be able to go back to 3.1.1x and save your recordings. Other than that, if you want to roll back to 3.1.1x and stay there you should be okay.

Check out routerplus. (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45765) According to one post this is a replacement for sendkey. Report back if it works.

There's no mention of routerplus in the thread link you specified. ? could you look into that for me?

Thank you for poining that out for me. I have corrected it. Now take a look at my signature. I feel part of it applies to you. Did searching on 'routerplus' even cross your mind?
