Hot to use TiVo Desktop 2.2 from internet

My Toshiba DVD Recording TiVo is in California and I am in Europe.

Before leaving last week I was able to get the TiVo Desktop 2.2 on my home desktop and laptop PCs to sucessfully access my Toshiba TiVo and download recorded shows off it for viewing on both PC's - both of which like my TiVo were attached to my home 'network'.

Now that I am in Europe w/ my laptop and a broadband connection I am looking for a way to use Desktop 2.2 to again access my Toshiba TiVo so I can download my US shows I've recorded.

I've not worked with Tivo DeskTop but at the least you would need to get through your home cable/dsl modem, through your home router/switch (maybe port forwarding), (maybe behind NAT) to get to the Tivo. Did you set all of this up before leaving the US?

If so, you should be able to specify your home IP address (oh, is that a dynamic or static address your get from your ISP?) with the correct port and see your Tivo.
